SIGALDRY

sigaldry·/ˈsɪɡ.əl.dri/·noun·archaic

“enchantment; sorcery.”

Middle English, now obsolete — revived by J.R.R. Tolkien, who set it among the arts his wanderer studied, beside wizardry and smithying.

Pre-alpha / The craftable card game

A digital card game
without cards.
Until you make them.

Every card in Sigaldry is built by a player from a deep crafting system — assembled, named, and illustrated by you. No fixed card list. No netdecking. Just the cards you invent.

Create your cards

Create

You build cards. You don't collect them.

Choose a card type, then assemble it from components on a grid. Millions of combinations, one of them yours.

Conceal

Your designs stay secret.

Opponents see the card you play — never how you built it. There's no decklist to copy, so a good idea stays your edge.

Author

Your name stays on it.

Invent an original card and you're credited as its originator. Anyone who builds it later sees you got there first.

Own

The players write the meta.

The strategy comes from the people who play, not a publisher. And if we ever rebalance a piece, you're refunded in full.

How it plays

Gameplay is simple.
Your cards aren't.

A clean board, on purpose — so the depth lives in what you build, not in the rulebook.

  • Avatar

Every deck has an avatar: your most important unit, designed by you to attack, defend, or support. Destroy your opponent's to win.

  • Position

On a 5×4 field, a unit in front shields the one behind it. Send your avatar to lead the charge — or guard it from the back line.

  • Depth

Turn-based, one player acts at a time. Everything that makes a match interesting comes from the abilities you crafted onto your cards.
